As a founding partner ofboomsatsuma, Mark is a committed educationalist with a strong foundation of commercial experience ranging from industrial design to all aspects of advertising.
He joined the University of the West of England as a visiting lecturer in graphic design following his study there during which he won a number of awards including the Crest Nicholson Hanging Art Prize, & Mentor Prize for typography.
Moving into secondary education Mark became known as an innovative practitioner and programme developer working across a range of schools and colleges as the regional Lead Practitioner in Creative and Media.
He has been a national speaker for the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust and has been recognisedthrough the QCA SecEd Teacher of the Year programme.
Above all, Mark remains a committed student-focused creative programme leader, driven by using the intrinsic motivational qualities of creative practice to inform and support learner progression.
Tom has seen the boomsatsuma journey from most perspectives. Initially enrolled as a student on the media production programme and then progressed to a full time apprenticeship.
He has also worked as an independent film maker having created work for corporate and social sectors. A skilled musician, Tom has experience in a broad range from orchestral percussion to beat box, for writing original music for film and performing in local bands.
He also worked for an independent film company as film editor before returning to boomsatsuma to extend his practice further.
Rob is a First class honours graduate in Media Arts: Film, Television and Digital Production from Royal Holloway College, University of London. After graduating, he worked as a freelance videographer for over a year until starting full time with boomsatsuma in September 2015. Rob is boomsatsuma’s resident filmmaker.
