We are delighted to announce that we were crowned winners at the Bristol Life Award for Education (September, 2021).
Laura Lexi, award-winning comedian, writer and actor, hosted the first event since 2019, due to COVID restrictions. It was a glamorous evening as always, and our co-founders Mark Curtis and Stuart Wood (pictured) were there to represent us.
A word from the judges on why they picked us:
boomsatsuma went big in 2020 launching six creative degrees accredited by Bath Spa Uni along with a vital new partnership with Tobacco Factory. Terrific work also on the WIDJET project.
Fighting off strong competition from worthy finalists; Badminton School, Bristol City Council - Adult Learning, Home-School Tutoring Bristol and Progressive Sports, boomsatsuma were awarded the top prize for Education and we now have the award taking pride of place in our brand new Higher Education facility at Tobacco Factory.
Mark Curtis, Creative Director, said:
We feel so humbled by the huge amount of support shown to us by our fellow contestants and other businesses around this great city. Bristol is very much our campus, and to see all the amazingly talented businesses, who help to make our offer so unique, in one place was really special. This award is a vindication of a year of extremely hard work, against the odds and we are so proud to be a part of something truly special, with a great team of staff and students.
