New Ashton Gate Stadium venue for boomsatsuma's Sports Media students

Ashton Gate Stadium’s Dolman Lounge will be the new classroom for boomsatsuma Sports Media Diploma students from September 2020.

The ongoing partnership for boomsatsuma has strengthened between Bristol City Robins Foundation and Bristol Sport’s Ashton Gate Stadium, as it is confirmed that the new Sport Media students’ classroom will be hosted inside the stadium’s Dolman Lounge.

Chris Stenner, Bristol City Robins Foundation Head of Education, states:

“The Robins Foundation is extremely pleased to have boomsatsuma join us in the delivery of education programmes out of Ashton Gate Stadium. We have worked together on various projects over the years, and this allows us to join together in delivering an outstanding education provision for young people in Bristol.
“It is also great to see Ashton Gate welcoming learning organisations that will support education for the city, while providing top class learning environments for students. This is just the start of what will be a long and fruitful working partnership that will continue to grow into the future.”

Studying inside Bristol Sport’s flagship venue, home of the media teams for Bristol City F.C., Bristol Bears Rugby and Bristol Flyers Basketball Club, continues boomsatsuma’s ethos of sitting its courses at the heart of relevant industry locations.

Course Leader, Reece Morrell, enthuses:

“The Bristol Sport team is passionate about connecting with their local community and the support our students get from working amongst media and sporting professionals at this amazing location is a great opportunity. Being in the centre of the action will equip them superbly to progress beyond education into creative media careers in the sports sector.
“Our Sports Media Diploma offers young people an opportunity to gain real-world experience in social media management, documentary filmmaking, sports photography, graphic design, audio production and much more. Our students already produce professional matchday programmes for Weston-Super-Mare AFC, photograph Bristol City U23 games and documented the trophy tour for the Cricket World Cup 2019. These project-led experiences offer unrivalled industry exposure for our students and whilst achieving the equivalent of three A Levels, they’re also networking, developing important transferable skills and building an impressive portfolio of client work to prepare them for a career in media.”
