We have launched Stay Connected, a ten-week engagement project, supporting students in lockdown.
COVID restrictions have limited tutor contact and interactive creative projects for many locked-down students. We have developed this initiative to help current and future students create portfolios and assets, key for showcasing their talents to future employers and developing their skills.
Stay Connected centres around two live projects, giving students access to mentors and providing inspiring education, in a fun, supportive, no-pressure environment.
In addition to our students, applicants for our Documentary Photography and Print BA (Homs) will be able to work collaboratively to produce a project for submission to the Helsinki Photo Festival under the theme ‘Fearless’.
Applicants for our Filmmaking BA (Hons) with Pathways in Production and Post-Production will work collaboratively to produce a project for submission to the Bristol Science Film Festival.
Participants will log in to join online mentors every Friday for ten weeks. Guests from Bristol’s leading creative companies will be in attendance to give feedback on work and students will benefit further from these free networking opportunities with industry professionals.
boomsatsuma head of student experience, Elliot Lamb, stated:
“Since the first lockdown we have strived to go the extra mile for our students. We recognise the value of stimulating projects to engage students’ talents and are keen to support those aspiring to join us, giving our degree course applicants a flavour of the benefits of working with our industry partners.
“We will run a mixture of weekly assignments, required watching/reading, group presentations and feedback, individual and group tutorials.”
Prospective degree students for our Documentary Photography and Print BA (Homs) and Filmmaking BA (Hons) with pathways in Production and Post-Production can APPLY for an interview on www.boomsatsuma.education - they will then be eligible for Stay Connected.
