An authentic studio experience
This is more than just a short course – it’s an opportunity to immerse yourself in the game design process, gaining real, practical experience in a working game studio. You’ll collaborate, experiment and problem-solve just like professionals do, all in an inspiring, creative environment with experienced tutors and fellow creatives.
Whether you’re considering a future in game design or just want to try something new, this week will give you the skills, confidence and experience to take your creativity further.

Who is this for?
Creative minds aged 11–16 (school years 7 to 11) who are curious about how games are made and want to give it a go. Whether you’re an aspiring game designer or just love the idea of building something from scratch, this is a great place to start. No experience needed, just bring your ideas, and we’ll show you what’s possible.
What you’ll take home
By the end of the course, you won’t just have learned new skills – you’ll have made your very own playable game, complete with a custom .exe file so you can launch it on your home PC and show it off to friends and family. It’s a real, tangible achievement they can be proud of. You’ll also receive a Boomsatsuma Short Course Certificate, something that looks great on a CV, personal statement or college application.
At the end, you’ll get the chance to show your game off at with your parents welcome to visit to see a final showcase of what you have created. It’s a great way to celebrate what you’ve made, meet others on the course, and see where your creativity can take you next. You’ll be learning alongside other people who are just as into games and design as you are, so you might even make a few future collaborators while you’re at it.
