Boomsatsuma recently celebrated the achievements of its degree Class of 2026 with a joyful graduation ceremony at Bristol’s The Mount Without, where Bristolian comedian, actor and writer Jayde Adams urged graduates to embrace their own stories and never fear failure.

Adams reminded graduates that “artists fail publicly again and again until suddenly something works,” adding: “The world doesn’t need more people trying to make the same thing as everyone else. It needs your voice, your weirdness, your point of view.”

The ceremony captured the pride, friendships and creative confidence built over three years of study at Boomsatsuma.

Photography and Print graduate Leila Sparks said Boomsatsuma’s supportive environment made all the difference. “I felt so at ease and supported,” she said, adding that Bristol’s “really welcoming” creative community was one of the city’s biggest attractions.

Post Production graduate James Ferguson admitted graduation had come around faster than expected: “I’ve loved every second. I wouldn’t trade it for the world,” he said, praising opportunities to submit films to festivals, meet industry mentors and be inspired by Bristol’s street art.

Photography and Print graduate Biba Tarquini said the strongest memories would be the friendships formed on the course. “There’s a big community,” she said, describing Bristol as a city she had “really enjoyed” for its beautiful harbourside, lively music scene and creative energy.

For Film Production graduate Robbie Hedges, the people made the experience unforgettable. “It’s been the best three years,” he said. “We’ve met an amazing group of people… and made some brilliant films.”

As graduates crossed the stage, the day celebrated not just qualifications and endings, but the stories, resilience and creative futures that now begin.
